Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and other sleep-related breathing disorders affect millions of individuals in the U.S. and are often misdiagnosed, despite their significant impact on overall health. As oral health care professionals play a vital role in the screening, diagnosis and management of OSA, dental education must evolve to prepare future clinicians for this expanding area of practice.
Join board-certified oral medicine specialists and oral and maxillofacial surgeons for a timely discussion on integrating sleep medicine and OSA into predoctoral education. Hear firsthand examples of how peer institutions are approaching didactic and clinical instruction, explore curriculum development models and gain practical insights for preparing the next generation of oral health care providers to address sleep-related breathing disorders.
