Interventions used to change the behavior of health care professionals, whenever possible, should be based on evidence-based theories and frameworks. Our webinar aims to identify dental, low-value care (LVC) and provide a framework to aid in the de-implementation of LVC in clinical dentistry. In this webinar, we will discuss current de-implementation strategies, including frameworks and/or models for the removal of LVC in dentistry. The webinar will provide guidance and insights into these de-implementation frameworks to help dental educators and faculty improve patient care quality by identifying and removing LVCs while decreasing time spent on unsuccessful or potentially unneeded interventions.
Learning Objectives:
- Define and identify low-value care (LVC) in dentistry.
- Identify de-implementation strategies and tools to de-implement LVC.
- Discuss de-implementation framework(s).
- Recognize other potential areas/processes for de-implementation at respective institutions.
