Expert Tips on How to Publish in the JDE: Making Your Data Stronger

This workshop is for dental educators who want to advance their careers by publishing their research in a scholarly journal. In this session, the presenters will focus on preparing a paper for the Journal of Dental Education (JDE). The workshop will inform participants about (a) types of manuscripts published in the JDE, (b) topics of interest, (c) how to get started identifying a research question, and (d) considerations for preparing and submitting manuscripts that go beyond relying on survey data. By the end, participants will be able to identify a research question of interest to readers of the JDE and begin designing their qualitative research study.


Learning Objectives:

  • Describe a qualitative analysis and a quantitative analysis.
  • List the evaluation steps for an article published in the JDE. 
  •  Recall the submission process for learner attitudes and behavior studies.
