Digital Dentistry Simplified: A Step-by-Step Blueprint for Tomorrow's Dental Educators

Includes a Live Web Event on 12/02/2025 at 12:00 PM (EST)

This webinar delivers a comprehensive, evidence‐based roadmap for integrating digital dentistry into predoctoral education. Through a detailed, three-phase approach, it explains how to start with contained pilot projects, gradually scale up digital modules across the curriculum and ultimately transition into a fully mature digital environment with robust IT support, continuous faculty training and systematic quality improvement. Drawing on research and practical strategies, the talk addresses common challenges—such as overcoming faculty skepticism and managing resource limitations—while providing actionable steps and real-world insights. Presenters will provide a case example: A.T. Still University Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH), which exemplifies a successful journey from pilot to scaling stages. Attendees will leave the webinar equipped with a clear blueprint to transform traditional dental education into a forward-thinking, digitally enriched experience.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe the phases of digital dentistry integration—pilot, intermediate scaling and mature integration—and outline the key steps associated with each phase.
  • Identify common obstacles (e.g., faculty resistance, infrastructure gaps, budget constraints) to implementing digital workflows in predoctoral curricula and apply evidence-based strategies to overcome them.
  • Apply the step-by-step blueprint, using ATSU–ASDOH’s journey as a case example, to develop a tailored action plan.
