Includes a Live Web Event on 11/17/2026 at 7:00 PM (EST)

ADEA’s Pulse of Progress: Legacy Builders in Oral Health Speaker Series elevates the voices and experiences of speakers from underserved communities and those who actively advocate for improving care for underserved populations. Beyond the Bite: Food Insecurity and Its Impact on Oral Health—the next session in the series—examines the strong connection between food insecurity and oral health outcomes.

Food insecurity is more than a social challenge. It is a significant driver of oral health disparities. This webinar explores the complex relationship between limited access to nutritious foods, dental disease, delayed treatment and overall health outcomes. Participants will learn how to recognize signs of food insecurity in dental and clinical settings, assess the impact of nutritional limitations on oral health and identify strategies for promoting more equitable access to care. Attendees will also discover community resources and support services that can help address patients’ oral health needs beyond the clinical setting.

This webinar highlights the role of oral health professionals in screening for food insecurity, connecting patients with resources and advocating for more equitable care, while fostering meaningful dialogue around improving oral health outcomes and reducing disparities in oral health outcomes.
