Allied Dental Workforce Issues, Solutions, and Action Plans

Allied Dental Workforce Issues, Solutions, and Action Plans

In recent years, there has been a growing concern regarding the shortage of allied dental professionals: dental assistants, dental hygienists, and dental laboratory technologists. While ADEA does not address workforce issues directly, its members do comprise the educators who are influencing future allied dental professionals. Similarly, other national organizations have their own roles in addressing these workforce concerns.

Join us in this lively panel discussion with leaders from the ADA, ADHA, ADAA, NADL, DANB, ADEA, ADSO and CODA as we describe the underlying issues impacting the allied professional shortage, discuss potential solutions and suggest possible action plans.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify current workforce issues related to the allied dental professions.
  • Discuss potential reasons for the shortage of allied dental professionals.
  • Identify potential solutions to the allied dental workforce shortages.
  • Create action plans to address the allied dental workforce shortages.
